2015 Boxing day sales start early

2015 Christmas Sales

High street stores slash prices ALREADY ahead of Christmas

The biggest high street stores have started end of season sales earlier than usual, giving last-minute Christmas shoppers the chance to score savings.

A number of big names brand including Marks and Spencer, Argos, Gap, House of Fraser and Debenhams already offering discounts of up to 50 per cent off wish list items and festive essentials.

More sales with larger reductions are expected to start in the coming days.

Analysts say the early sales are thanks to Britain’s record-breaking Black Friday, which saw many consumers finish Christmas shopping earlier than usual, meaning reduced spending in December.

Retailers are now expected to aggressively target those who are yet to buy gifts with attention-grabbing sales.

Jamie Turner, co-founder of commerce tracker PCA Predict, said: “With Black Friday this year being the most successful yet, many shoppers have already managed to buy all of their Christmas presents.

“This leaves retailers vulnerable to a slow December and we could see them choosing to bring sales, which traditionally kick off on Boxing Day, forward to try and give themselves a vital injection of revenue.”
