When do the Boxing Day Sales start?

With only a few days until Christmas Day 2014, you’d be excused to think people are a little crazy when they talk about Boxing Day Sales. However with Black Friday and Cyber Monday out the way, shoppers are wanting to know when the next winter sale frenzy will start.

Boxing Day Sales, as they’re known in the UK, should in theory begin on Boxing Day and therefore will be the next big event, however you find that many online retailers will start their sales early – usually once last post has passed.

With that in mind, we expect to see boxing day sales announcements to commence on Sunday 21st December onwards, and we are already privy to one heading our way.

When is the best time to check?

Naturally we would suggest you follow us on Twitter so you get instant, yet uninvasive, updates as and when a new boxing day sale is added to our website. We appreciate you will be sat down with friends and family and don’t want to pull you away from that, but we’re also aware that lots of us, as consumers, want to get a bargain.

Thats why by following us on Twitter, you can causually glance at your phone and see which sales have started quickly and easily, without having to fire up your laptop. If you do fire up your PC, then you could always just follow our very own #Boxing Day Sales tagging system 😉

How much can you save in Boxing Day Sales?

Unlike Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales where retailers are trying to get you to puchase Christmas presents, Boxing Day Sales are aimed at self indulgence. Retailers are aware of the reluctance to overspend on ourselves, and because of this many retailers will be reducing their stock by 60% or more.

Who has the best boxing day sales?

That’s an impossible question. You maybe after a bikini for your summer holiday and therefore Figleaves or Boux Avenue would be a good place to start. Those wanting clothing the great outdoors would probably make a beline to Mountain Warehouse while Oak Furniture Land would be the starting place for many home owners.

The secret is to make a list before the boxing day sales. Write down items you like and where they’re available from. Stick to the list and don’t wander off. Resist temptation if you can!
